Sara Simnitch

Welcome to the website of Sara Simnitch.

From northern Michigan's hard-working fruit growers to a one-on-one conversation with the Governor, Sara thrives on the stories every person has to tell.

A proven leader who has achieved success in multiple capacities in an award-winning newsroom.

After receiving two Michigan Associated Press Awards for "Best Hard News" & "Best Continuing Coverage", and spending two years in the field for Northern Michigan's News Leader -- WWTV/WFQX -- Sara was promoted to the evening Anchor desk for the 7:00 & 10:00 p.m. news broadcasts on FOX 32.

She spent one year there before receiving another promotion to the "Michigan this Morning" anchor desk; northern Michigan's most-watched morning show.

A challenging, exciting four-hour show starting at 4:30 a.m. on CBS Affiliate 9&10 News, & 7:00-9:00 a.m. on FOX Affiliate FOX 32 News.

Sara attended the "The 2014 Anchor Institute" hosted by media consultant firm Frank N. Magid Associates Inc.

She brought back and implemented several fresh, new ideas.

Particularly, an element of the show that had gone unchanged for decades; an up-to-date headline format involving LIVE anchor voice over, sound bytes, natural sound and video at the top of the 6:00 and 7:00 hours of "Michigan this Morning".

Sara is a native of Swartz Creek, Michigan.

In high school, Sara was a team captain for the women's golf team where she helped the team to an MHSAA State Championship title.

She holds a degree in Broadcast & Cinema Arts from Madonna University, in Livonia, Michigan, where she was an anchor for Madonna's "Campus Close-Up" & was Vice President of the Broadcast Club.

While attending college, Sara was twice selected as a First Team All Conference choice for the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference as a member of the Crusaders women's golf team.

She went on to lead the team to their first-ever appearance at the NAIA National Tournament.

Sara is seeking a new challenge where she can continue to serve as a newsroom leader and a mentor to fellow members of the news team.
